OK, with Round 7 of layoffs coming up at work, I need to start getting rid of my giant piles of 240 parts in the event I need to move quickly.

    The package Bundle:

    For sale! 1989 Nissan 240SX

The offer: This car isn't pretty, isn't perfect, will never win a car show, and isn't even particularly comfortable. However, this is one of the cheapest ways of getting involved in Motorsports. I'll even throw in an SCCA membership with the deal. In my 7 years of ownership, this car has driven to Autocrosses, Rallycrosses, and Drift Days hundreds of miles away, put up with my abuse, and driven me home again without a single hiccup. As it sits, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere, or compete in anything. While I am open to negotiations on price, I am well aware of it's defects, and I have priced it accordingly. Approximate part prices are listed in parenthesis to illustrate that I'm not off base with my pricing. If it doesn't sell, I will make a new thread and part it, so don't bother asking now.

I'd just like to get it to someone who will enjoy it as much as I do.

    The Basics:
    1989 Nissan 240SX hatchback
    178,XXX miles on chassis
    128,XXX miles on 91 KA24DE motor

SE model with optional lip and flip up sunroof
    Spoilerless Hatch

    The Mods:

    2 spare 5 speed transmissions ($100ea)

    -225/50/16 Bridgestone RE01-R on Red 16x8 +15 Sportmax 501s (new, <5 autocrosses) ($600)
    - 205/50/15 Falken Azenis mounted on a set of polished stock teardrops. ($200)
-195/60/15 Hankook iPike Snow tires (unstoppable in snow/ice, great for RallyX) on stock single rib 7 spokes painted black. (brand new tires, <1000 miles) ($200)
    -195/70/14 free crap mounted on (2) 14x6 +10 Datsun 280Z 6 spokes, (2) 14x7 +8 Celica Supra wheels with custom centerbores.
-Stack of free 15" tires for drifting

    Inside
    3 driver's seats:
-Corbeau Forza with customized stock seat rail/slider ($100)
-Kirkey Aluminum seat with red cover, modified to bolt to the floor over the cat-hump ($50)
-Stock driver's side w/ extra rails.
    -DOHC tach
    -S14 Seat Belts
    -Leather Maxima shift knob
    -DSM leather shift boot
    -lightweight thief-assisted radio delete ($Free!)

    The Good:
-This car runs great, and is a blast to drive at autocrosses(top ten overall at the local level), tons of fun at rallycrosses (PR National Champion 2007), and a great learning platform for Drifting.
-Comes with a myriad of spare parts including all the wheels and tires listed above, 2 spare 5-speed transmissions, Stock Suspension with KYB GR-2 shocks, Skidplate, extra lines, hoses, injectors, bolts, belts, distributors, etc.
-Is a great platform to learn driving techniques and get into Motorsports. After 7 years, my abilities still haven't caught up to the car.

    The Bad:
-The car was involved in a low speed impact with the RF of the car clipping a concrete barrier at a Drift Day. The frame rail and suspension components were not touched, but the headlight, bumper, fender, radiator support, and bumper support all sustained damage. The damage was straightned by hand, the headlight was replaced with a Hella FF1000 Driving beam, and the turn signal replaced with a trailer light. The car competed later at that event, and I've driven it alot since then, both on the street and at the track.
-The car has rust in the usual 240 places, but this has never been a structural issue.
-The synchros are out on the current transmission's 2nd gear. This is why 2 spare KA 5-speed transmissions are included in the sale.

    The Ugly:
-The car is dirty, inside and out. Everything is functional, but if you like clean cars, this one will never live up to your expectations without major work.
-Windshield is carrying quite a few battlescars from Marshaling 5 years of 100 Acre Wood stage rallies. It functions fine and always passed tech, but you'd likely need to replace at some point.
-One of the brakes lightly drags when cold and squeels, I was going to clean and lube the sliders the next time I bought pads, but have been too lazy so far.

    Pictures
I don't have many pictures of it's current post-accident state, but I will try to get more at/after the autocross on Sunday.

    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06637
you can get a slight glimse of the other side here

    Price
    $1100 OBO
I've tried to justify my price through the parts list, but if you can convince me otherwise, we might be able to deal. (Hint: "I'll give you $500" won't convince me Smile ) The car can also be configured in a number of different ways to lower the price.
I'm not accepting any trades, and I am not parting it out as of now, so please don't ask, or call "dibs".

    Location
Car is located in the Central Wichita area.
I'm willing to drive within the city limits to show/deliver it. The car is also available for viewing/test drives at most Wichita Region SCCA events.

    Contact
    My name is Matt
I can be reached preferably at my email address: rallyxPOS13@gmail.com or by PM on this forum. If you'd rather talk in person, PM me for my telephone number.

Oh, and I forgot to include a couple things.

The sale includes 4 more wheels:
    (2) White Enkei NT-03 16x7 +35 offset
    (2) 14" Celica non-Supra wheels

And my car is famous Cool Pictures of it rallycrossing have been in a couple issues of SportsCar, and in the May or June issue of Grassroots Motorsports. But I'll got ahead and waive not only the drift tax, but the mag car $10,000 markup as well. Smile

    Walkaround:

    The nasties:
    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06873
some rust accumulating where I backed into a pole a few years ago, since I was out of it, leaving for an autocross at 4:30am

    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06874
    The dorifto damage.

Frankenstiening of the bumper back together.

"I call this the Ranch.... cause thats where I keep my 150 horses"

    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06877
    Close-up of radiator support damage

    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06864
Rust in Driver's side strut tower, and frame rail. I had planned to cut this out and weld in a plate over it, every 240 I've ever seen except for one had at least some rust here. I've been keeping track of it, and haven't noticed any separation.

    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06879
Hoodpins AND numbaz, must really be a race car! Wink

    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06880
The newest, bestest wheels and tires, I'll try to get pictures of the rest of the stacks at some point.

    1989 Nissan POS13 $1100 DSC06881
Kirkey is currently bolted to the floor so my freakishly tall self can fit in the car with the sunroof closed for rallycross events. The rest of the interior is embarrassingly dirty, and mostly gutted. I'll get some pictures when I can shop vac some of the dirt out and re-install the rear interior.

Let me know if you have any specific things you'd like pictures of, and I'll try to get out there and take some.
