Time Attack Racing @ Hallet

Post  C2@Fusionworks Racing on Thu Mar 05, 2009 12:07 am

We are considering hosting an actual event with rules loosely based around the Redline Time Attack series rules. This will not be door to door racing, but timed laps with no more than 5-7 cars on track grouped to their approximate speeds. Awards and such will be determined at a later date depending on interest.

Competitors will have had to attend at least ONE HST event down there prior to entering this event. There won't be enough time to teach someone the basics of the track.

Entry fee will be in the neighborhood of $120-$150.

Please PLEASE let me know if there is serious interest in this so I can make it happen! It is definitely not a cheap endeavor to rent the facility for a whole day to ourselves!

A VERY rough idea of rules. Any and all suggestions welcome!

Unlimited Class

UTOQ rating of 79 and below including all DOT and non DOT slicks

Anything goes…

• Lexan
• Open Wheel
• 1,000,000 hp
• etc

Modified Class

UTOQ rating of 80-179, must be DOT approved tire

• Must be currently registered/insured street legal car
• Full Glass, no lexan allowed
• Lightweight components limited to hood, fenders, aerodynamic enhancements

Street Class

UTOQ rating of 180+, must be DOT approved tire

• Must be currently registered/insured street legal car
• Full Glass, no lexan allowed
• Lightweight components limited to hood, fenders, aerodynamic enhancements

There will be some power reserved by the event promoters to equalize the playing field.

For example:
• A Saleen S7 running 200 rated RT-615s will not be allowed to compete in the street class, they will be unlimited class.

MUST have one HST event completed before being allowed to compete in this event
Full day entry fee of $150 per car
Entries will be prepaid and NON REFUNDABLE
We will race rain or shine
Car count will be limited to 40-50 entries

Exact format TBD.
If there is interest to run for fun and not in a class we may create an open session class at a discounted rate (no time transponders will be available for this class)

We were aiming for early June....but the interest so far has been rather lack luster....it is Very costly to do this so we were trying to gauge how much interest there actually was...
